Well, compared with microwave cooking, it takes forever!But if you’re like me, and find yourself running out of time as supper time approaches, I think you will appreciate the insta pot!Need to cook a whole chicken and fixins, or a pot of ham and beans, or lentil soup, or anything else, and you have experienced how long it takes to cook dry beans and ham in a crock pot, you will be amazed at the speed this finishes supper in record time! About 45 minutes once the pressure is built up and it starts cooking. Then about 45 minutes or less for it to depressurize, and you’re done!This has been my experience.I don’t use it everyday, but when I need it, I don’t hesitate!This is so much safer than old school pressure cookers.Very satisfied with performance.
