Gives a good-sized adult portion, a bit much for a child, and ideal for producing the fair, same-sized portion to everyone. The knack is to pack the rice in tightly, then invert it and put it on the plate very quickly so that rice grains can't fall out. Love the handle on top which makes using this very easy.Good build quality but note it's light in weight and could dent easily if dropped on a hard surface. It's definitely handwash only as it's made of aluminum and I'm sure it'd eventually rust at the welds if it was dishwashered.I use it to serve not just omurice but also a neat portion of rice for curries and other meals - this is a nice piece of presentation equipment. Good value at just over 16 U.S. dollars.
